Customers rely upon our expertise, know-how, and highly-trained staff to help them select durable, high-quality new and retread commercial, farm, road, and specialty tires.

Whether dispatching our 24/7 Road Service crew, performing rim and wheel reconditioning, tire and wheel balancing, truck alignment, or providing in-depth fleet inspections, S&S Tire is ready to serve. However, this is only possible with our in-house TIA-certified trainers, and there is one at each of our 13 commercial truck tire and service centers.

So, what makes our TIA-certified trainers an essential part of our service offering? More importantly, why should you trust a TIA-certified service provider? Read on.

The Best of The Best in Terms of Training

S&S Tire is a long-standing Tire Industry Association (TIA) member. This membership means we are at the forefront of emerging technologies, practices, and processes this well-established international association endorses.

The TIA has the most extensive and up-to-date training and educational models covering tire maintenance, installation, and other critical tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) processes. No other tire association comes close, and having onsite TIA-certified trainers ensures S&S Tire is at the front of the line for new training models, trends, and industry best practices.

Adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations

The PSI rating on commercial truck tires can go from 85 PSI up to 140 PSI for extremely cold environments. These aren’t car tires where the PSI ranges from 30 to 35. You can’t just jack up an 18-wheeler and change the tires like you would your car.

Commercial tires are extremely large and highly pressurized, and improperly installing or changing them can cause serious injury. OSHA has mandated that service technicians within commercial tire shops be properly trained when handling commercial tires and wheels.

Most tire shops rely upon internal training from their most senior technicians. While these senior technicians have a wealth of experience, it doesn’t mean they’re trained or even aware of the latest and safest approaches. Turnover is also a concern; many tire shops have lost critical knowledge simply because a seasoned technician has left or retired.

S&S Tire adopts a more proactive approach by having an on-site TIA-certified trainer. TIA constantly updates our trainers on the safest, most secure, and most efficient tire-changing processes. This invaluable resource trains all our technicians to ensure they’re more than capable of handling the job. However, should they need help, our TIA-certified trainer is always on-site and ready to assist.

High-Quality Service Excellence

It’s all about providing our customers with peace of mind knowing the job has been done by the best in the business. It’s just that simple. Long-haul truckers know the dangers of underinflated, overinflated, or improperly installed truck tires.

Finding that all-important balance between too much or too little pressure only comes from properly training and applying that training in hundreds of hands-on applications. Underinflated tires have long been considered the number one reason tires are worn out and removed prematurely.

Underinflated tires reduce fuel efficiency, impact driving performance and handling, and lead to premature wear and tear. For an entire fleet that has invested in fuel-efficient tires, having them underinflated leads to nothing more than high costs and wasted time as tires are endlessly and repeatedly replaced.

Overinflated tires represent a different concern altogether. Overinflated tires decrease road traction and lead to uneven handling, and they can quickly lead to a complete tire blowout, causing a severe accident. These tires are more susceptible to tread damage if they come across a road obstruction, pothole, or uneven surface.
